  2. What is an alternative fuel? -any non-fossil fuel -some examples are biodiesel, ethanol, chemically stored electricity, or solar energy

  3. Biofuels • fuel derived from recently dead biological material.

  4. Types of Biofuels • Ethanol: A corn based fuel that can be used in most common engines. • Biodiesel: A non-petroleum based diesel fuel that is made through a process of changing the organic compounds of vegetable oil

  5. The Benefits of Using Biofuels • They can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help lessen the danger of global warming to our environment • By not using petroleum, they will eliminate the threat of oil spills
