  26. What Forensic Science really is • Analysis of trace evidence • Drugs of abuse • Fire investigation • Toxicology and Alcohol • DNA analysis ANALYSIS OF VERY SMALL SAMPLES WHERE RESULTS ARE USED IN A COURT OF LAW

  27. Why is this important? • Employers value this ‘stamp of approval’ and look for graduates with accredited degrees • There are over 200 degree courses now with the word ‘Forensic’ in their title. Strong competition for jobs! Employment in this area is difficult – but chances are improved significantly if you have this degree • Will be an accredited chemist who can work in any area – forensic, environmental, pharmaceutical, heritage science, process analysis, instrument design, fine chemicals, bioanalytical …
