2. “Detective Conan” is a detective mystery manga created by Aoyama in 1994. It‘s serialized in the weekly magazine “Shounen Sunday.” There’s also an anime series based on the manga. Both manga and anime are wildly popular in Japan, and they are both still ongoing. The manga and anime are being released in North America under the name "Case Closed"

He ends up living with Ran and her father in their home slash private detective agency. He continues to try and find a cure to un-shrink his body, solving various mystery cases along the way. Very few people know Conan‘s secret, and to this day, Ran is still clueless.

6. Shinichi Kudo （工藤新一） Shinichi is widely regarded as one of the top detectives in the land，and he is only in high school! The police often solicit his services, although sometimes unwillingly. Shinichi is a top athlete as well, often relying on his physical abilities to apprehenda crook. His father is a famous writer of detective novels, a fact that is inseparable from his career choice and his choice of personal hero, the one and only Sherlock Holmes.

Ran lives with her dad, Kogoro Mouri, a detective who isn't quite bright.

15. Sherry（雪莉） A fan favorite, this mysterious little girl is just plain mysterious and quiet. So, it might as well be that she‘s in serious danger if the members of the Black Organization ever come lurkingaround! There's also a lot of indication/talk on whether she likes Shinich/Conan or not. So, things do get interesting in the ongoing love-triangles.

17. The Detective Boys(少年侦探团) Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko, three very curious six year olds who like adventure. They make friends with Conan after his arrival at their school, rather they decide to be friends with Conan whether he likes it or not! They thoroughly enjoy the mysteries that they encounter with Conan and a club called the ‘Detective Boys’ is quickly formed. Conan often views them as a hindrance and tries to keep them out of danger, but the kids are very persistent and actually often prove their worth as detectives. Ayumi likes Conan very much while Genta and Mitsuhiko like Ayumi and get annoyed with Conan about it sometimes, but lately Mitsuhiko seems to have transferred his affection to Haibara. However, all three admire Conan very much and are very loyal to him.

19. Dr. Agasa （阿笠博士） Dr. Agasa is Shinichi's neighbor, friend, and inventor. After Shinichi gets drugged and shrinks into a elementary kid, Shinichi first goes to Agasa for help. From then on, both Agasa and Conan share the secret of Conan's true identity. In addition, Agasa often helps Conan solve cases by inventing cool gadgets for Conan to use.

21. Kid（怪盗基德） • A genius theif who is also a worthy rival and enemy of Conan/Shinichi. I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise since he looks almost identical to Shinichi. He loves to steal things that are hard to get (especially jewelry) and doesn't mind in dwelling into risky adventures along the way. Will he ever get caught by Conan/Shinichi? We may never know.

23. Saguru Hakuba（白马探）&Heiji Hattori(服部平次) Kid‘s rival and a detective. Saguru lived in London for a while before returning to Japan. He goes to the same school as Kaito and longs to unmask the Kaito Kid. Has a pet hawk called Watson. He met Conan during a case involving Kid. HEIJI is a very worthy rival of Shinichi who figures out about the Shinichi/Conan‘s identity (that’s how good he is!). At least it was kind of him to keep it under wraps. Anyway, he eventually befriends Conan and the two teamwork together to solve a ton of amazing mysteries. Lastly, he‘s from Osaka . And KAZUHA is his girlfriend.

Detective Conan in English • Detective Conan has long been translated into many different languages (Thai, Chinese and Spanish for example) but it wasn't until 2004 that an English language version was made available. The English Conan is produced and called 'Case Closed'. It airs on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Many of the names have been changed: Shinichi Kudo is now Jimmy Kudo, Ran Mouri is now Rachel Moore, and so on. Viz is putting out the manga (with the new name changes) and the first DVD has come out (with sub and dub options). • Of course since it took so long for Conan to be licensed it will be a while before the English version catches up with the Japanese. But don't despair! If you wish to read on ahead and get to some of the really juicy storylines then there is a chance. Many fans translated the manga early on and there are a number of sites offering Detective Conan translated either simply as text to compliment the original manga or as manga scans; that is: the original manga scanned in and the Japanese wiped out and replaced with English. 36. Why do we like Shinichi? • The reason is, from our interpretationof the series, Shinichi, yes, is handsome, clever and cool, and this is enough to arouse the most. However, most would not notice he actually having problems with socialization, even voluntary, that caused him to be. • 1.Marginalized in the classroom, if not the society, fame not considered;2.He is actually desocialized, and, worse, he thinks there's no problem in that. • This was an expected -- yet unexpected -- conclusion. Here I should put forward the evidence why I said so, and explain why it is so.

Conclusion • In this essay we have attempted to analyse Shinichi Kudo‘s characters and his favours, by the method of “developmental analysis” -- that is, analyse through his past events and the environment he was grown up, at least the way I am perceived to have. As a deduction geek living alone, he actually was probably marginalizedat school; and that was a gradual progress -- he was not that at his earlier ages, and, actually, things that were set at that period -- most importantly, Ran and soccer -- became quite an exception for his case.
