  2. GENERAL ADMINISTRATION The tutor is the first point of contact for pastoral issues Arrangements for the first day of school in September 2015: Students arrive for 8.40 a.m Assembly 8.45 a.m in Gym School day ends at 3.20 p.m

  3. ATTENDANCE Please inform school immediately if there is a change of address, telephone or email address so that we can amend details on the school system It is essential that we can make contact with parents for reasons of safeguarding If your child is absent from school, please inform us on the absence phone line before 9.30 a.m for every day of the absence. (Telephone number in Planner as well as on the web site)

REPORTING AND MONITORING Three data trawls take place throughout the year in the Autumn, Spring and Summer Term Staff provide the ‘working at’ level for your child in their subject against their Negotiated Target Level for the end of the year Staff also provide a grading of Excellent, Good, Satisfactory but could be better or Requires immediate improvement for: Behaviour Effort Homework

REPORTING AND MONITORING The information from these data trawls is published to parents as a Short Report (x2 each year) and a Full Report (with comments and improvement strategies from your child’s teachers) One of the Short Reports is followed by a Parents’ Evening The dates of all these reporting events are published in the Parents’ Calendar in September

REPORTING AND MONITORING We have a secure Parent Gateway called the SIMS Learning Gateway (SLG) Each parent will have their own personal username and password This will give you 24/7 access to progress data, attendance and your child’s short and full reports Login details will be provided in September The school website has a dedicated section for parents including information and contact details

REPORTING AND MONITORING Parents’ Evening for Year 7 will take place provisionally in June 2016 (the diary has yet to be finalised) The Year 7 Annual Full Report will be published to parents in the Spring Term, specific diary dates are being presently finalised. The report will be published as a pdf document on your SLG page but a paper copy will be available on request

  8. STUDENT PLANNERS These are used as a two way means of communication between home and school School policies will need signing during the first two weeks at school The planner contains uniform lists, a record of short detentions, notes from staff, timetable and additional subject information

  9. HOMEWORK There is a homework timetable issued to each tutor group at the start of the year. This will be recorded in the student planner during the first few days Students usually receive approximately 2-3 subjects per night with approximately half an hour to be spent on each subject

  11. SCHOOL UNIFORM AND PE KIT Please ensure all items are named PE Kit is available to order on-line at: Crested School Wear; information has already been given in Parents’ packs.

  12. VALUABLES No valuables or large sums of money should be brought into school

  13. YEAR 7 CAMP Takes place at Boreatton Park The site includes an old mansion and additional accommodation in modern log cabins, the site is owned and run by PGL Students will take part in a variety of team building activities

  14. YEAR 7 INDUCTION DAYMONDAY 6TH JULY Students should arrive at Walton for a 9.15 a.m. start in the Main School Hall Some students will have a PE taster lesson; they do not need a PE kit. Any student making their own way home must have a completed permission slip from their parent. THESE WILL BE COLLECTED THIS EVENING; SPARES AVAILABLE.
