  2. Project Overview This week our class will apply their knowledge of plants during our field trip to Schneider Nursery. Thank you to all our volunteers who are joining us on our field trip. Then, read Bill Helps Geese Survive to learn your new vocabulary words. • Begin reading, Goose’s Story by Cari Best on page 46 with your partner. • Tuesday • Finish reading Goose’s Story with your partner. Wednesday- Field Trip Thursday Complete the comprehension activity for the story and check your plants in the greenhouse. • Friday Complete and turn in your comprehension work. • Materials Needed • Treasure Books • Greenhouse and plants • Comprehension Packet Project Connection: Plants and Living Things What will happen if… I don’t get it. Writing: Gathering Information on Living Things Skills and Standards 2.5.8- Gather research on an object 2.4.2- Organize gathered materials based on topic Compare/ Contrast • First, choose your favorite plant. • Next, fill in the Venn Diagram to compare yourself to your favorite plant. • Then, write 1-3 paragraphs that tell how you and your favorite plant are alike and different. • Use the rubric to assess your writing. • Materials Needed • Research Collector • Notecards • Pencil • Resource books Project Connection: Plants and Living Things Home

Self-Selected Reading / Accelerated Reader Skills and Standards 2.1.6- Read fluently 2.2.5- Restate facts and recall information SSR and AR points Noise Level 0 • Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. • Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. • Silently read . • After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. • Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. • If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. • Record your AR score in your Data Binder. . • Materials Needed • Data binder • Book of choice • Computer What will happen if… I don’t get it.
