3. 1 Vision We want children and young people in Swansea to develop to their full potential.

4. 6 Key Outcomes • We will work to ensure that all children in Swansea: • Have a flying start in life • Are healthy • Are safe • Are educated • Enjoy life • Can make a positive contribution

5. 3 Key Challenges • There are three particular issues in Swansea at the moment that cause problems and make it very difficult for some children and young people to develop to their full potential.The three issues are: • The safety and welfare of vulnerable children and young people; • The impact of substance misuse; and • The impact of family poverty. • These issues are complicated and cannot be dealt with in isolation. Our work under all our priorities will help us to tackle these issues and improve outcomes.

7. 11 Priorities • We will work together to ensure that children and young people: • Make good progress in their early development; • Live in safe, stable and caring families; • Are supported to have a healthy lifestyle and feel good about themselves; • With additional health needs get the support they need; • Are safe at home, at school and in the community; • Fully participate in, and, enjoy learning;

8. 11 Priorities • We will work together to ensure that children and young people: • Achieve their educational potential; • Have opportunities to have fun and enjoy life; • Have the support, advice and encouragement they need to contribute to their community; • Can influence decisions that affect them; • Have the best possible start to their adult life.
