  3. Safety Moment Expedition # 1* • A 2000 Ford Expedition was traveling northbound on CR 140 when the father lost control over the bridge, said Sgt. Chad Martin with the State Patrol. • The Expedition turned sideways and then rolled twice, ejecting four children, ages 15, 11, 4 and 2, Martin said. A 16-year-old was seat-belted in (the other passengers were not), and the 2-year-old was in a child seat, but it wasn't fastened properly, he said. • The parents suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The 15-year-old and 4-year-old were flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction. The 15-year-old was in critical condition, and the 4-year-old was in serious condition, Martin said. • The 16-year-old was taken to Farmington with internal injuries, and the 11-year-old was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center. The 2-year-old was taken to a hospital in Albuquerque. * Excerpts From Durango Herald Article - Thursday, April 10th, 2008

  4. Safety Moment Expedition # 2 • A 1999 Ford Expedition was traveling south bound on CR 240 when the mother lost control. • The Expedition turned sideways and then rolled twice. • Two children were in the car in addition to the mother. The mother was seat belted-in and the children ages 2 years and 8 months old were in approved child seats properly fastened. • The two children were assessed at the scene and released after determining no injuries had been incurred. The mother was taken to Mercy ER where she was checked for internal injuries. She was released after all tests came back negative.
