  9. Lead Professionals are those teachers who are interested in collaboratively working with others to develop teaching and learning resources. Work produced so far has included: Resources for voting systems Modules for gifted and talented KS3 pupils KS3 scheme of work We are looking for teachers wishing to contribute to writing a Key Stage 4 scheme of work or Functional skills tasks across Key Stages 3 and 4 Lead Professionals

  11. APP Update • Moderation meetings have taken place • Cross referencing APP assessment criteria to SoW helps • Using APP grids provides accurate curricular targets • Excellent opportunity to share good practice • Colleagues are becoming more familiar with levels

  12. APP Update • Focus required on Using and Applying mathematics • Variable practice in the frequency of recording data • Take care with levelling from external sources • Evidence needs to come from a variety of sources • APP criteria does not cover the National Curriculum PoS

  13. APP – next steps • Second moderation meetings take place in March – focus on Levels 5 and 7 • APP grids to inform future teaching (day-to-day APP) • Holistic judgements about pupils’ levels (periodic APP) • Moderation required at departmental level for consistency

  14. APP – next steps Consider the APP progression grid. Give an honest appraisal about where your school is for each section. Discuss your progress with your table.
