  3. January 20th – 8th grade parent meeting • January 27th – Class Request ½ slip due to the high school office, signed • Early February – student requests are entered into Skyward • February – final master schedule is created • March/April – Conflict resolution Scheduling Timeline

  4. Edgar High School requires 29 credits for graduation. All Edgar High School students must adhere to the following regulations in order to be eligible for a diploma: • Required credits include: • 4 credits of English • 3 credits of Social Studies • 3 credits of Math • 3 credits of Science • 1.5 credits of Phy. Ed. • .25 credit of Computers • .5 credit of Health (Health 9, CPR) • .5 credit of Consumer Economics (.25 Employability Skills, .25 Personal Finance) • .25 credit Freshman Orientation • .25 for school portfolio program • The minimum class load for all students during all semesters is four. • Each course may be taken only once for credit. • Minimum graduation credits is 29.   5. 4 credits English • 3 credits Social Studies • 3 credits Math beginning with Algebra I • 3 credits Science (avoid Applied classes) • 4 credits Electives • 2 credits Foreign Language (UW-Eau Claire, UW-Madison) Please see college manuals for more details. UW System Requirements

  6. PE/Health 9/Freshman Orientation • General Science • English 9 • Math (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II) • Global Studies Required Classes for Freshmen

  7. Life Span Development (potential split class) • Intro. to the Culinary Arts • Spanish I • Introduction to Agri-Business • Art I-Introduction to Art (potential split class) • Band (band appreciation) • Choir (applied voice) • Introduction to Business • Information Processing • Intro to Technology and Engineering Elective Classes for Freshmen

  8. Three elective choices for each freshmen • Band/Choir option • Alternate Requests • Classes listed on ½ sheets are requests, not guarantees • Choose wisely – only should change in rare circumstances Class Requests for 2014-2015

  9. Collection of artifacts to showcase student strengths and accomplishments • Time is given each month to work on monthly “theme” and add artifacts • Goals established for each grade level • Completed portfolio and interview/presentation is a graduation requirement Edgar H.S. Portfolio

  10. Athletics • Fall – Football, Cross Country, Volleyball • Winter – Girls/Boys Basketball, Wrestling • Spring – Boys/Girls Track, Baseball, Softball • Code of Conduct/WIAA Rules Overview Co-Curricular Activities

  11. Clubs/Organizations • Letter Club, FBLA, FCCLA, Art Club, Spanish Club, Forensics, Fall Play, Pep/Jazz Band, Flag Corp, Show Choir, FFA, Annual Staff, Student Council, NHS, Culinary Club, Ice Fishing Club Co-Curricular Activities

  12. Not required for EHS graduation • Course is offered during summer • Generally three sessions offered • Students born before January 1, 2000 can take class during summer of 2014 • Behind the wheel during summer and school year Drivers Education
