  2. Habitat • Robins can be found across the UK and Europe in woodland parks and gardens

  3. size • Robins have a wingspan of 20-22cm and are 14 long .they weigh 14 -21 grams

  4. appearance • Robins have brown feathers on the head tail and back the breast is a bright red color the male and female look similar .

  5. food • Robin are omnivores (plant and meat eaters ) they eat worms seeds fruits and insects .

  6. young • The female robin builds a cup shaped nest made from grass and mud in trees and shrubs . She lays 4-6 light blue eggs the baby birds hatch after 12-14 days

  7. Interesting fact • Pictures of robin were first used in Victorian times to remained people of the post men who wore red tunics . The postmen were called red breast. We still call robins ;robin redbreast

  8. threats • By 1900 the introduction of rats ad cats following human settlement had wiped out the birds from everywhere apart from little manger island . The accidental introduction of predators to the two island where it presently survives is still a threats
