  35. ISC H-index • It was originally proposed by Dr. Jorge E. Hirschin 2005. • It is a bibliometric measure that can be useful in measuring a researcher's relative impact on his/her discipline. www.isc.gov.ir

  36. ISC H-index • As a definition for h-index we can say that: a scientist has index h, if h number of his/her papers have at least h citations. • H-index should only be used to compare researchers within the same discipline area, because citation behaviors vary among different fields of science. • The index can also be applied to measure the productivity and impact of a group of scientists such as a department, university or country.
