IV. Early Leaders of the Reformation Are: • A. John Wycliffe- 1300s wanted the church to reform its formal and empty ceremony • B. Erasmus- wanted the Bible translated into German and discusses the ignorant and immoral behavior of the clergy in his The Praise of Folly.
C. Thomas More- desired a perfect society • D. Martin Luther- will emerge as the main shaker and mover of the Catholic Church in Germany. • E. John Calvin- had an effect on the direction of reformation in Geneva, Switzerland
