  1. MESSAGE Draft Status • draft-ietf-sip-message-05

  2. Status • Currently in IETF last call • Waiting for IESG feedback • Some changes based on LC feedback so far…

  3. Congestion Control • Much concern about MESSAGE size limit • 05 adds compromise wording • If UAC knows a MESSAGE request will not cross a non-congestion-safe length, it can exceed limit. • Does not discuss _how_ a UAC could gain this knowledge • Congestion-Control draft suggests mechanism to gain such knowledge.

  4. Expires Header • Added clarification language • Zero value requests immediate delivery(some list discussion on using Priority instead) • Value is delta-time from Date header, or from time of reception if no Data header. • UAC SHOULD include Date if it includes Expires. • UAS handle expired MESSAGE according to local policy

  5. Registration • Suggestion to state a client MUST register with “methods=MESSAGE” • This is a stronger requirement than for any other method. • Currently a SHOULD. • Current plan is to leave as is.

  6. CPIM Mapping Status • draft-ietf-simple-cpim-mapping-01

  7. CPIM Mapping Status • Minor changes to synch with 3261 • No comments on list since submission • May be ready for wglc, but… • Dependent on CPIM work.
