  2. What is a Gizmo ? • Proprietary interactive web-based math and science simulations from ExploreLearning • Designed for grades 6-college (MS & HS are strengths) • New: Grades 3-5 science Gizmos • Not free- a subscription service. Pricing is per teacher or site-based

  3. Why Gizmo’s ? We were looking for interactive simulations with: • Substantial content • “Powerful” activities; better than other apps • Dynamic (versus static) presentations • Vivid images & motion to illustrate concepts • Capacity to be used at various stages of instruction • Non-game format

  4. Specifics & Features • Unique login for each teacher • Easy to set up and use • Allows 6 classes per teacher (35 per class) • Choose specific Gizmos for each class • Supporting materials: Exploration Guides • Brief assessment at the conclusion of each activity
