  2. Weddings are very speacial, important and enjoyable in Diyarbakır.

  3. First wedding cards are given to relatives and friends of bride and groom.

  4. At first, trousseeau of the bride is prepared in a special box.Before the wedding, they take it to the house of bride and groom with traditional drum and many things in trousseeau includes red ribbons.

  5. HENNA NIGHT One or two days before the wedding, the Henna night is prepared. Only women join this night. Everybody has henna in her hand. The mother of the groom must put a piece of Golden in bride’s hand. The bride wear a special costume named “bindallı”. Mostly, bride and her mother cry together at this night.

  7. Wedding day The bride and the groom are prepared for the wedding all day.

  8. Before the wedding, the car is prepared for the wedding with some ribbons etc.

  9. Before the wedding the bride write her single friends’ names under her shoes

  10. They come to the wedding

  11. Their relatives start to traditional folk dance “halay” all day of the wedding

  12. It is a “Halay” example

  13. Relatives throw money.

  14. Special sweets are given to the relatives at the wedding.

  15. The wedding cake is cut at the end of the wedding

  16. Wedding presents (gold jewelleries) are given to the bride and groom as a ceremony at the end of the wedding.
