Born/Childhood • Born as Nesta Robert Marley. • On February,6 1945. • Birth Place was in a village of Nine Mile, Saint Ann Jamaica. • Bob Marley was mixed raced. • His father, Norval Sinclair was a White England-Jamaican whose family cam from Sussex, England. • His mother, , Cedella Booker, an Afro-Jamaican. • Bob Marley was constantly made fun of because he was a mixed child. • Throughout his life and because of his beliefs he self- identified as a Black African.

  3. Education: • Bob Marley's only formal education was at the Stephaney All-Age School in Nine Miles. • He consisted of ordinary schooling until the age of 14. • While Bob Marley was still in school, he continued to play music with his half brother Neville Livingston( Bunny Wailer).

  4. Early Life: • Bob Marley was born in Rhodan Hall in the North Jamaica. • Bob moved to Kingston in the late 50’s in his teens. • After Kingston, Marley and his mom moved to Trench town. • When Marley was 10, his dad died from a heart attack.

Religion: • Bob Marley was once a member of the Rastafari movement (development of reggae). • Rastafari practice called Ital, a strict diet… Marley was a vegetarian. • He was known as "Tribe of Joseph", because he was born in February. • Bob Marley was baptized by the Archbishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Kingston, Jamaica, on 4 November 1980.

  6. His Family: • Bob Marley had three with his wife Rita, two adopted from Rita's previous relationships. • Others with different women. The Bob Marley official website says 11 children. • 7 sons • 4 daughters

  7. Death: • He passed away when he was 36 years old • He died May 11, 1981 in Miami • He was playing soccer and injured his foot, it got worse since then and the doctor said it had to be amputated but, he didn’t want to because of his strict religion. • Marley later was diagnosed with Melanoma.
