Expectations At Home • Home Learning standard the same as class work. • Reading daily or as often as possible • Maths – written and mental practice or My Maths or -Project or cross curricular based • Time to be taken 20-30 minutes a week. • Expectation that this is done, homework club (if it is taking longer, please let your class teacher know)

  8. Topics to be covered • Mythical Beasts • The Vikings • Japan • The Romans • The planets and space • Topic based around school trip

  9. P.E • Kit indoor and outdoor • T-shirt { now available in school house colours} • Black shorts • Trainers or plimsolls • Tracksuit bottoms • Tracksuit top • No jewellery • Letter from parent • Swimming Year 3’s Larkfield in April

  10. Spelling and Times Tables • 10 spellings a week following work on spelling done in school • Children select their own target • Lots of repetition, look, cover, write, check • Weekly times tables, builds up and repeats, includes division

  11. Class Assemblies Thursday 25th October Turtle Class Thursday 24th January -Tiger Class Thursday 6th June - Panda Class All start at 9:00am and are followed by tea and coffee in classes.

  12. Parent Consultations Term 1 Tuesday 16th October Thursday 18th October Term 4 Tuesday 5th March Thursday 7th March Please remember that we are available to see you whenever the need arises and that the doors are open in the morning for you to come in should you wish to.

  13. Assessment Year 3 and 4 Optional Assessments To aid teacher assessment Used in conjunction with class work Teacher assessment given during parent meetings and on end of year report Assessment activities happen all the time and more formally 3 times a year

  14. Kingswood Activity weekend for year 4 children at Kingswood Activity Centre Ashford. Friday 14th June – Sunday 16th June Information already been sent out

  15. Production Term 4 – 26th and 27th March in the evening. All children to attend both nights To be announced!

  16. Don’t Forget! Open door policy – raise any concerns as soon as possible, we will do what we can to help Year 3 + 4 need you – can you help in class with reading etc? Website has all up to date information and dates for your diary aylesford-pri.kent.sch.uk
