  1. Dry Cleaning Dos And Don'ts: A Garment Care Guide For Consumers Dry cleaning is a great way for many clothes to be cleaned; however, it is necessary to use it correctly in order to prevent damaging your clothes. Here are some things that you should do and not do when considering dry cleaning services.

  2. Dos ·DO check the care label. This is the first and most important step. The care label will tell you whether your garment can be dry cleaned, and if so, what special instructions you need to follow. · DO pre-treat stains. If you see a stain on your garment, treat it as soon as possible to increase the chances of removing it. There are many different types of stain removers available, so be sure to choose one that is appropriate for the type of stain. · DO empty your pockets. Remove all pens, pencils, coins, and other items from your pockets before you take your garment to the dry cleaner. These items can become lodged in the dry cleaning machine and damage your garment.

  3. ·DO tell the dry cleaner about any special instructions. If your garment has any special care instructions, be sure to tell the dry cleaner about them. This will help them to clean your garment properly and avoid damage. · DO inspect your garment when you pick it up. As you are leaving the dry cleaner, check your garment for any stain or damage. If you find anything not being right with it, let the dry cleaner take note of it so that they can rectify.

  4. Don’ts ·DON'T dry clean your clothes too often. Dry cleaning is hard on clothes; only do it when they really need it. If possible, spot clean instead of dry cleaning. ·DON’T put wet or damp clothes in the dry cleaner. Wet or damp clothes will sulk and crimp within the dry cleaning machine. In case your clothes are wet let them air-dry completely before taking them to the dry cleaner.

  5. · DON’T overload the dry cleaner. Your clothes will get crumpled or damaged if they were put into an overloaded cleaning machine. Just place a few pieces at a time into the cleaners. · DON’T store your dry-cleaned clothes in plastic bags. Plastic bags can trap moisture and cause mildew in your clothes. Use breathable bags made from cotton or linen if you must keep your dry cleaned clothing in bags. · DON’T iron your clothes immediately after picking them up from the dry cleaner; the heat from the iron can set any wrinkles that were caused by the dry cleaning process. Let them hang for a few hours before you start pressing. By following these dos and don'ts, your dry-cleaned clothes will look better for longer.

  6. Here are some additional tips to help you take care of your dry-cleaned clothes: ·Use proper hangers for hanging your clothes. Prevent stretching and sagging by using wide, padded hangers. ·Store them in cool and dry places. Avoid direct sunlight and humid areas as well. ·Get professional cleansers for your garments. Dirt, dust and other pollutants that could damage your clothing will be eliminated through this means. ·Through little attention and care, you will have worn stylishly kept outfits over many years.
