Purpose of Mentoring for a Business Mentoring is more than personal professional development, the implementation of a structured mentoring program is an effective business strategy that can transform your company culture, improve your Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and positively impact your financial bottom line.

  3. Purpose of Mentoring for an Individual Mentoring is about conversations or a relationship that leads to insight, decisions, planning and action. It strengthens knowledge and skills whilst building capability.

  4. Why this program? To assist local professionals to progress their careers and step up into leadership roles with their current employer Its about building regional talent and supporting our future leaders here in the region

  5. What is mentoring? Mentoring is a helping relationship based on an exchange of knowledge, experience and goodwill. Mentors help someone less experienced gain confidence, clearer purpose, insight and wisdom. In developmental mentoring, the mentor, too, is changed by the relationship. Prof D Clutterbuck

  6. Mentoring is not… • a replacement for line management • a guarantee of outcomes (e.g. promotions, rotations) • an opportunity to find another job • the answer to all of your problems!

Mackay Mentoring Network • MRC and RIN partnership program for 2019 • Two cohorts: February to June, then July to November • 20 pairs of mentees and mentors in each cohort • Using the Art of Mentoring platform https://artofmentoring.net/ • EOI up to 10 December 2018 then selected mentees and mentors can register until 15 January 2019 then the pairs are matched • Mentor training once pairs are matched includes a face to face session then the platform on-line tools • Mentoring relationships start on 5 February 2019 and conclude in June 2019 for the first cohort
