MAIL Livestock Farm- Beni Hisar, Kabul • Assessment 3FEB13 • Good condition but underutilized 60 year old facilities built by French • 22 cows being milked by contractor, about 40 total cattle on site • Probable facility capacity to run 200 cow dairy • Educational University student visits, 3 per year. • Large concrete silage pits not being used. • Tractors and equipment onsite. • Feed: • Cottonseed meal, grains, alfalfa, straw • Alfalfa moved loose by hand labor • Taking Action • Minimal action planned at this time due to limited TF Centurion Agricultural personnel. • Considering how to facilitate alfalfa production training. 3- FEB-13
