  2. The four commands • 1. Du command • Stop!, Halte an!, Komm!, Geh! • 2. Ihr command • Stopt!, Haltet an!, Kommt!, Geht! • 3. Wir command • Wirstoppen!, Wirhaltenan!,Wirkommen!, Wirgehen! • 4. Sie command • Siestoppen!, Siehalten an!, Siekommen!, Siegehen!

  3. Du command • You take the verb and conjugate it into the second person “du” form. You are only talking to one person, who you are giving the command to hence the du command. • Du spielst, du findest, du gehst, du singst, du arbeitest. • Now take off the “st”. • Eliminate the “du” since we know who we are talking to. • Spiel!, Findedas Buch!, Geh ins Auto!, Sing!, Arbeite!

  4. Ihr command • For the Ihr command you conjugate the verb into the second plural form. • Ihrspielt, Ihrfindet, Ihrarbeitet, Ihrgeht. • Now eliminate the “ihr”. Done • Spielt!, Findet das Buch!, Arbeitetjetzt!, Geht!

  5. Wir/Sie Command • The wir/sie (formal) command is simply the 1st plural or formal conjugation. Yes we leave the pronoun in this case. • Spielenwir!, FindenSie das Buch!, GehenSie! Arbeitenwir!

  6. Some additional items • To soften the command you might use bitte, bald, mal. • To harshen the command you might use jetzt, schnell.
