  2. The Company • The company was set up in October by four first year students :Louise Dunne, Gemma Fox, Megan Connolly and Chloe Flynn. Choosing Our Idea • We came together as a group and we started thinking about all the different things we could make or services we could sell. • We had alot of different ideas but we eventually decided to make cards because we felt we would be good at this as we are creative and we like making things. • We came up with the name Bee Hive Card Creations for our company.

  3. Results of Questionnaires • We found from the questionnaires we sent out that Christmas cards would be one of our best sellers so we began by producing handmade cards for the Christmas market. • We sold the cards to the teachers in our school, parents at the first year open night and local residents at the school show. Our Christmas cards were such a success we then began producing handmade Birthday cards, Thinking of You cards, Thank You cards, Easter cards, Holy Communion cards and Wedding cards.

  4. Innovation We produced unique handmade cards of good quality and design. Our product worked well because we had a market outside of the school and so this increased our sales. Our product was not seasonal and so we were able to make a continuous profit. Our cards were admired by the judges for their Uniqueness and for our Creativity.

  5. Conclusion • We really enjoyed setting up our mini-company and it was a really good experience for us competing in the county and national finals. • We enjoyed making and selling the cards, making posters to advertise our cards and setting up stands at our school open night and at our school show. • If we enter the Student Enterprise Awards this year we will pay more attention to our packaging as we had really nice cards last year but we did not package them very well and some of our stock got damaged.
