Overview of Regulations 648/05 & 1875/06 The Community Customs Code and the relevant Implementing Provisions provide for measures that: • Requires trade to provide Customs authorities with information on goods prior to arrival and exit from the European Union (Implemented: 1 JAN 2011) • Customs must carry out safety & security assessments at the EU 1st point of entry for (import, transshipment & FROB containers), as well as at the offices of export and exit for exports • Creates uniform community risk-selection criteria for Security and Safety Risk Analysis based controls (Adopted: APR 2009) • Recognizes the AEO concept, providing reliable traders with trade facilitation measures (Implemented: 1 JAN 2008) • Utilizes the Community Customs Risk Management Framework (CRMF)
