McDonald’s Heated Landing Zone. The HLZ is designed to hold wrapped sandwiches while the meal order is completed. Five screws on the bottom of the unit secure the controller tower. Nuts holding the air tower diffuser in place should be loosened, not removed when dismantling the unit.

  1. McDonald’s Heated Landing Zone The HLZ is designed to hold wrapped sandwiches while the meal order is completed

  2. Five screws on the bottom of the unit secure the controller tower.

  3. Nuts holding the air tower diffuser in place should be loosened, not removed when dismantling the unit.

  4. The sealant on the seam of the heater plate must be cut prior to prying the plate off of its adhesive backing. Remove the plate when the unit is hot; the adhesive will be more pliable.

  9. The setpoint for the plate and the air heater can be changed: • With the unit off, press the Check button and then buttons • marked 1,2,3,3 in that sequence.

  10. SET will be displayed. • Press 1 to adjust heater plate; press 4 to adjust air temp. • Use UP (2) and DOWN (3) arrow keys to adjust setpoint.

  11. Press Check to lock in changes.

  12. The reliability of the HLZ’s temperature readouts can be checked. Test ports are positioned on the unit’s front panel, which allow independent measurement of the heater plate and air heater’s temperature. A variance of ± 50F between readout and meter is acceptable.
