  2. Estimating Answer to Check Rounding decimals • 5 and above round up • 4 and below keep the same • Tenths- 1 decimal place • Hundredths-2 decimal places • Thousandths- 3 decimals places

  3. Round to the nearest hundredths • Look at the third decimal place to determine

  4. Examples: • 23.874 • 450.0982

  5. Add or Subtracting Decimals • Line up the decimal place vertically • When subtracting put larger number on top

  6. Ex: Add or Subtract and round to nearest hundreths 1.) 0.345 – (-34.1) 2.) 0.86 + (-8.2)

  7. Solving 1 Step Equations with APE of decimals • KFC • Add the additive inverse of the number being added to the variable to both sides of the equation • Remember to line up decimals and put bigger number on top

  8. Ex: 3.8 =n-3.62 Estimate Solve

  9. Ex: -22 =p+13.7 Estimate Solve

  10. Ex: x+(-0.0025)= 0.0024 Estimate Solve

  11. Ex: 117.345+m=200 Estimate Solve
