This research investigates factors influencing participation in community development projects within the informal settlements of Kauma, Lilongwe. It explores how the mobilization process can be optimized to boost community engagement. Objectives include identifying barriers to inclusive mobilization and individual characteristics that affect participation, such as education level and socioeconomic status. Findings highlight the significance of community cohesion, social capital, and the impact of perceived differences and exclusion on participation. Recommendations focus on increasing awareness and ensuring equitable access to development opportunities.
