  1. Gender mainstreaming –Legumes Sensitization and Technical Training on Gender Mainstreaming and Analysis N2Africa Phase II 15 – 16 april 2014

Goal • Devolve gender mainstreaming and analytical capacity to partners’ organizations • Enable them to take to take full responsibility and ownership for the gender component of N2Africa project • This could be accomplished through sensitization and enhancing the capacity of gender TOTs who will take over the lead of gender mainstreaming and reporting

  3. Gender Training Workshop • Specific Objectives: • 1) Assess the gender capacity needs of implementing partners and stakeholders at local, district and national level • 2a. Conduct sensitization of partners with basic gender concepts and gender analytical tools and their practical application in legume based research and development project • 2b. Carry out focused Training of Trainers (TOT) with the intent that trainers involved in TOT will then use their training to ensure that all stakeholders engaged in N2Africa activities are enabled to address gender inequity in legume based farming and decision-making

  4. Gender Training Workshop • Methodology: • Participatory, experiential adult learning comprising group & plenary discussions, case studies, • combined with field work exercise and presentations • Inputs • Handouts/reading material for in-house and field work exercises • Outputs/deliverable: • Improved awareness of partners with basic gender concepts and gender analytical tools • Improved capacity of partners to collect, analyze and interpret sex/gender-disaggregated data Information sheet on gender and value chain interactions • ToT’s own follow-up action plan
