  1. Introduction: • (Rom 8:9) “You, however, are not in the flesh but in the spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.” • This Spirit, which is the Holy Spirit, embodies the mind and attitude of Christ: • (Phil 2:5) “Have this mind in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” • We are to hold the same Spirit that Christ held • His disposition is to be our disposition • His actions are to be our actions • His reactions are to be our reactions

Descriptions of Christ • Two Sides to the Spirit of Christ • Lamb of God • (John 1:29; 36; Rev 5:6) • Meekness, humility, sacrificial, sweetness, gentleness, etc... • Lion of Judah • (Rev 5:5) • Kingship, authority, strength, powerful, loudness, etc... • These sides do not conflict – complete harmony in Christ's character

Lamb of God • Christ's Spirit Towards His Heavenly Father: • (Heb 5:8-9; Phil 2:5-7) • Christ's Spirit Towards His Earthly Parents: • (Luke 2:41-51) • Christ's Spirit Towards Governmental Affairs: • (Matt 17:24-27) • Christ's Spirit Towards Personal Affairs: • (1 Peter 2:22-23; Luke 23:34) • Christ's Spirit Towards Sacrifice: • (Luke 22:42; Isaiah 53:7-8; 1 Peter 2:24)

Application: “Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.” (Rom 8:9) • Spirit of a Lamb: • Must completely submit to our Heavenly Father: • (Matt 7:21-23) • Must be obedient to our earthly parents: • (Eph 6:1-2) • Must be good citizens in our nation: • (Rom 13:1) • Must suffer and endure through personal attacks: • (1 Pet 2:21) • Must be willing to sacrifice for others: • (Eph 5:22; Phil 2:3)

Application: “Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Him.” (Rom 8:9) • Spirit of a lion: • We must be set to defend the word of God: • Teach truth and expose error (2 Tim 4:2-3) • We must be willing to preach the good news of Christ and do the work set before us • (Matt 28:19; Mark 16:15) • We must endure and finish! • (Phil 4:13) “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
