The Opportunity Health insurance in US is on ctheusp of major transition from employer-driven payor model to more complex market involving more players, including consumers Consumers will have more control over spending (defined contribution vs. defined benefits) Public health exchanges are unlikely to be capable satisfying all the needs of consumers and may be also less desirable for payers (commoditization)

Customer Needs Consumers want a “guided” purchasing experience with plan and product recommendations based on needs that is superior to public exchanges Consumers expressed a strong desire for real-time administrative support (either online chat or phone) to answer questions while making their selection

  4. Potential Idea Can the value that “administrative support staff” would provide to consumers be streamlined into an automated, more sophisticated analytics and recommendation engine?
