  27. Comparison to Directive 038 *Machinery was in use during the monitoring, which caused the day value to rise.

Conclusions • No increase in overall noise values in 2009 • Residences closer to roads had increased overall sound values • Comparing noise values to other industry standards, communities around YBW meet these • This does not infer there is no impact from YBW’s operations, but it does provide and understanding of the level of sound levels in the community

Jet Restriction • Currently from 11PM to 7AM jets restricted • SABPA have requested this restriction lifted • The Authority has requested some quantification of the impact before taking it to the committee for review. • Military jets that are unclassified from a noise emission perspective will continue to be restricted.

  30. Code C Aircraft • The Authority has granted limited authorization for smaller code C aircraft other than ASRD to operate at YBW for maintenance • Each flight occurrence would be required to be authorized in advance • Hours and flight profiles to be restricted
