  1. Mathematics Department ATD Initiatives

The Math ATD initiatives are designed to progress students through the Developmental Math program: • Acceleration through the Dev Math program: • The Math Dept has developed new pathways to College Level Math. • -A 2ND set of initiatives is aimed at increasing passing rates in Developmental Math courses.

  3. New Pathways: -New course proposal: Combination of MA 001 & MA 004 for those students who test at the highest level of MA 001 placement (will present to AC F12) -Algebra for Humanities Students (current pilot) -Increased Participation in Bootcamps (total student participation rose 18% from 2011 to 2012 on Main campus) AY 12-13: Offer Bootcamps at PAC & WAC

  4. Improving student performance in Developmental Mathematics: -pre-MA 001 RAMP program: Utilize personalized instruction to assist students in increasing math aptitude to a level that will foster success in future Math courses. (Mandatory for students with lowest level MA 001 placement) (start: SU 2012) -Brain Growth: changing the way students perceive their ability to do Math -New approach to MA 006/7 (pilot FA 2012) -Adjunct Training and Professional Development.
