  1. PA Comprehensive Planning PAIU-CC Update 1/16/14 Presented by: Jill Neuhard, Capital Area Intermediate Unit Jeff Byrem, ESAI Educational Consultation LLC

Update on submission of Title I, 2013-14 SIPs • (as of 12/17/13): • 349 plans submitted and approved • 7 school level plans were granted “non-submission” affirmation by PDE • 18 schools did not submit plans (15 Charter and 3 traditional schools- Federal Programs were notified with a list of these schools) • 1 school remains in revision

  3. CP Process Update: • A communication, which outlines the impact of the Chapter 4 revisions to LEAs, has been disseminated to the field on 12/20/13. • A Principal Leadership Academy was deliveredfor Priority school leadership at the SAS Institute on 12/11/13. • A list of Priority and Focus Schools aligned by Intermediate Unit was created and disseminated to CP IU contacts.

  4. Process Update (cont.): • Met with Bureau of Federal Programs to review changes to the Assurancesin CP Web App. • Met with Bureau of Special Ed to review Special Education plan functionality regarding SEPRN changes in the CP Web App. • Met with Charter School Office to review Charter Annual Report requirements for the 14/15 release.

  5. CP Application Development Update: • Major release on12/10/13- included the inclusion of the new system guiding questions at school level, conversion from AYP scores to SPP scores, and the SEPRN process for Special Ed Plans.   • Priority/Focus schools are able to access their 2014-2015 plans and have the capability of submitting a school level plan.  • District Comp Plan- indications of required fields (as per Chapter 4 regulations) • Charters in Phase II and Federally Designated issue

  6. Update on Federally Designated Schools and Waiver Components • SPP scores and Federal Designation List of Priority and Focus Schools • IU CP Contact Improvement Plan responsibilities and school assignments • Improvement Plan due date and workflow • Stakeholders and sign off process • Intervention requirements (7 Principles)
