  2. Student Expectations… Here’s what I expect you to do as a part of this class. When we all do these things we’ll have an awesome class! • I will respond when my name is called. • I will respond to polling prompts. • I will ask and answer questions. • I will complete class work, take notes, submit exit tickets. • I will collaborate in groups if placed into breakout rooms. • I will demonstrate respect for my classmates and teachers. Marking yourself “away” means you are not in class and will miss important parts of the lesson. EVERYONE needs a working mic. Call 1-866-K12-care if it’s not working. Let’s get it fixed!

OBJECTIVES STANDARDS • Students will understand the components of the Research Paper Project • Students will define Preliminary Research • Students will explore the web during a Preliminary Research activity. • 8.4.7. C. Differentiate how continuity and change have impacted world history. ESSENTIAL QUESTION How do research essays help us explore topics we want to learn more about?!

  6. RESEARCH PAPER PROJECT AIM: Provide YOU (The student) with the tools and knowledge necessary to create a well organized research essay! At the end of this process you will have an essay that you can use as a model to future assignments! How You Will be Graded: Students will receive two teacher flex grades for this assignment. The first will be based on the completion of a Note-Taking Google Forms. The second will come from the completion of the Essay template provided. Due Dates: Note-Taking Google Forms: Friday May 9th Essay Template : Friday May 23rd

  7. The Topic Diffusion: From Ancient Rome to the United States Throughout the year, one of the main topics we have discussed is Diffusion, the spread of ideas. Let’s take a look how ideas have not only spread through geography but also through time! In this project we are going to research and prepare an essay that discusses the similarities between the United States and Ancient Rome.
