  3. Titanic Facts The Titanic was built in Ireland. It took three years to build the ship. Construction was completed in the year 1912. The ship was built as a luxury liner with four restaurants, two barber shops, two libraries, a fully equipped gymnasium and photographic darkroom. It had 840 staterooms and nine decks. "You could actually walk miles along the decks and passages covering different ground all the time. I was thoroughly familiar with pretty well every type of ship afloat but it took me 14 days before I could, with confidence, find my way from one part of that ship to another." Charles Lightoller, Titanic Second Officer Click on the picture for more Titanic Facts!
