  1. ASIPP EAST Campaign integrated dust and erosion – EAST J.S Hu, J.G Li and EAST team hujs@ipp.ac.cn Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hefei, Anhui 230031, China Sept. 15-18, 11th ITPA-SOL/DIV meeting, Nagasaki, Japan

  2. ASIPP EAST Outline • Introduction • Erosions/Depositions • Dust • summary

  3. ASIPP EAST Plasma operation in 2008 campaign • New carbon Plasma facing components • Shots number:#5132-9382, total 4250 shots; • Configurations: Limiter & Divertor with single/Double null; • Main parameters of plasma: • Bt~8.0KA; • Max. LHCD power: 800kW; • max. ICRF power: 260kW; • Max. Plasma current: 600kA; • Normal Plasma density: 1~4x1019/cm3. • Long plasmas • ~20S, 250kA, ne~0.8x1019/cm3, 400kW(LHCD) • ~10S, 400kA, ne~1.5x1019/cm3, 400kW(LHCD)

  4. Full C PFC (-2010) 2 MW/m2 W/Cu diverter(-2014), 10MW/m2 Full W PFC (-2016) RF wall conditioning techniques in divertor devices (cleaning, isotopic control, boronization). Develop Tritium removal techniques that could be applicable to ITER. Steady-state erosion, redeposition and dust formation. In-situ control of T-codeposition and inventory by surface temperature control. EAST ASIPP Main PSI issues for near futureProviding Useful Information for ITER

  5. ASIPP EAST Dust during plasma discharges • In many shots, dusts were observed by CCD camera due to unfavorable position control. #7097 #6599 #5674

  6. ASIPP EAST Erosion/Deposits on walls deposition on some tiles erosion on some tiles

  7. ASIPP EAST Dust location • SOL zones at low field side • Both side of movable limiters • Near GDC anodes • On/near ICRF antenna for wall conditioning • On/near coils box for fast control • …… • Window tubes • In the gaps

  8. ASIPP EAST Dust on/near ICRF antenna

  9. ASIPP EAST Dust on both sides of movable limiters

  10. ASIPP EAST Dust near GDC anodes Dust

  11. ASIPP EAST Dust on/near coil box

  12. ASIPP EAST Dust integration and summary • Erosion seemed on the wall at high field side and movable limiters due to the lose of position control. • Most dust in tile gaps, SOL zones at low field sides, windows tubes… • Total collected dust was 4.05g. • ~1mg/shot.
