  1. Tools that every car mechanic should have While you do need skills to make sure you are successful as a car mechanic, you also need to have a slew of tools to make sure you get the job done. You need to have a complete tool kit to make sure you never run short of a tool when you work on a new project. You don’t want to open up a car, get halfway through the job and find out that you don’t have the right tool to finish the job. While it is the current norm to get air tools to get the job done quickly, there are plenty of other tools that are just as useful and are just as innovative. Here are some tools that you must have in your tool kit. Impact Wrench An impact wrench is very different from the traditional impact driver or a hammer drill. This is a socket wrench tool that delivers high torque to get the job done without too much exertion from your end. This is the best tool to have if you have to deal with tight bolts and nuts every day. This is not the only use for it. You can also use it on ball joints, caliper bolts and much more. This is essentially for the bigger jobs. Torque Wrench Any mechanic worth his salt will have at least a couple of torque wrenches in different sizes. Out of all the sizes, you must have at least a ¼” and a ½” torque wrench in your tool kit. They are perfect if you have to get rid of small nuts and bolts. They make the job much easier and get the task finished quickly. Slide Hammer A slide hammer is almost a magical tool that will attach to almost anything or object and help you pull it out with minimum effort on your end. These are made of a long metal shaft that has an attachment point that can be fitted with any attachment to get the job done. Usually, a slide hammer is used to remove bearings to remove a part from the car, open hubs, get into the deepest parts of the vehicle and to pull out dents. It comes with multipurpose attachments that you can use for almost any purpose. Blow Torch or Heat Gun You might think you have no need for heat guns or blow torches, but they are an essential part of your tool kit. You might need them to remove bolts that are severely corroded or remove the head or the snap off when it has been jammed. These offer heat that will loosen the bolts and nuts that are jammed in with rust and years of disrepair. These are some tools that you should have in your shop if not in your tool kit. They always come in handy and make sure you get the job done immediately and instantly. There are various other tools that are equally important, but you need to start somewhere. You will not regret getting these multipurpose tools to start your business.
