  1. The Purpose The Baptism

  2. Endued with Power • We value the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the lives of born again believers for greater spiritual power from God to minister in Jesus’ name and greater spiritual intimacy with God.

  3. Key VerseLuke 24:49“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

  4. Acts 11:15-17 • 15 "As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning. 16 Then I remembered what the Lord had said: 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17 So if God gave them the same gift as he gave us, who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could oppose God?"

  5. Acts 1:4-5 - “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

  6. Acts 1:8 • “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses.”

  7. Matthew 28: 19-20 - “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

  8. Acts 9:31 - Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord.

  9. Acts 10:37-38 - 37 You know what has happened throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached- 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.

  10. Acts 1:5 • “John baptized you in water, but soon you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.”

  11. Matthew 3:11 - “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I… He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

  12. Acts 2: 2-4 - “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

  13. Acts 2:42 - “Devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”

  14. Jude 20 – “But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.”
