  • September 2006 – Fatal accident onboard Thomson Celebration focuses industry attention on tender operations & training.
  • June 2007 – MAIB publishes report on investigation of the accident.
  • February 2008 – MSC 84/22/8 submitted by United Kingdom and IACS
  • March 2008 - CLIA responds to MSC 84/22/8.

    • Centred on abandonment.
    • No consideration for anti-collision.
    • Variable pre-requisite experience.
    • Little boat handling/navigation.
    • Conducted in 30 hours.
    • Single hull boats at 6 knots.
