  3. On October 28, 2013 Amanda Roberts, Kristy Dale, and Jaylin Brown carved a pumpkin for the downtown Jack-O-Lantern Competition. The cat chased the mouse all the way into 1st place!

  4. On Tuesday October 29th, Deja Wells, Irma Cruz, Jaylin Brown, Kamilah Johnson, Mackenzie Troupe, Markeyia Larkin, and Kristy Dale handed out Pumpkin-Grams to all of the residents.

  5. November Community Service Activities • November 21st- -After school we will decorate the Angel Tree. -Then from 5-7 we will go to Ben Hill Primary School and paint faces for their Fall Festival. Mrs. McDonald needs 4-8 people unless you can get your own transportation. • November 22nd- -During 2nd-3rd we are going to Ben Hill Primary to read to students.

  6. Angel Tree • Angels will be placed on a Christmas tree in the hallway honoring local children who are of need this Christmas. • Students and teachers are welcome to select an angel from the tree, purchase the gift, and return it wrapped by December 17th.

  7. Reading Opportunity • We will be going to BHP to read to the children one day during 2nd and 3rd period. Please listen out for announcements.

  8. Candy Cane Swap • Residents of the Fitzgerald Nursing home have a candy cane swap each year. Residents can swap candy canes for items. • We are asking each member to bring in an unwrapped item by December 17 • What should you bring? Lotions, socks, paper and pens, stuffed animals, chap stick, etc

  9. Party for Students • We will be hosting a holiday party for students in Mrs. Singletary’s class during 4th period on Friday, December 13, 2014 • We will have music, games, prizes, Christmas ornaments, and food. • I will need about 5 students who can miss their 4th period class. • Please sign up after meeting

  10. CANES CASSEROLES • As a fundraiser and learning tool, students in FCCLA, Family Career Community Leaders of America and Nutrition students will be preparing casseroles each week for sale. The orders will need to be placed by Wednesday of each week. • If you don’t want to cook them that day, you can wait a couple of days or they all freeze well! • Also, please feel free to place all of your orders in advance if you prefer. • Schedule: • November 14- • Baked Spaghetti • Homemade Lasagna • November 22- • Squash Casserole • Sweet Potato Casserole • December 11 • Prices are: $10 for a 9” round (feeds 2-4 people) * $20 for a 13 x 9 (feeds 6-10 people) • Email your order to: mcdonaldl@ben-hill.12.ga.us or leave a message at 229-886-2787 (Leslie McDonald). • Make checks payable to: FHS. • Pick up times are between 11:30 - 12:45 or 3:40 -5:00 on Friday. If these times are not convenient, we can make other arrangements. • PICKUP LOCATION-Fitzgerald High School

STAR Events • STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) are competitive events in which members are recognized for proficiency and achievement in chapter and individual projects, leadership skills, and career preparation. STAR Events offer individual skill development and application of learning through the following activities: • cooperative – teams work to accomplish specific goals • individualized – an individual member works alone to accomplish specific goals • competitive – individual or team performance measured by an established set of criteria
