  2. Develop socially engaging experiences to create stickiness and loyalty. Identify brand evangelists and celebrity bloggers to virally spread company's value through relevant online communities Viral seeding: incentivize influencers to expose brand to their fan bases Use Smart Monitoring Tools for action-oriented insights from all social media outlets: pages, sites, blogs, etc. Use Smart Management Tools (TweetDeck, etc.) to manage the communities effectively.

  7. Why use these tools? Teachers have an ever growing “FREE” toolbox We are preparing students for jobs that do not yet exist. We must focus on the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, creatively solving problems, and innovation. We need to connect with students in their world, not in ours.

  11. Technology and Curriculum • Remember, curriculum drives technology…not the other way around. • Begin with the end in mind. What do we want students to know and do? • Give students VOICE and CHOICE.

  20. Answer Garden • Online question and answer “collection” tool. • Can be used K-12. • Uses • Literature to describe characters. • History – describe time or dates. • Quick poll of student interest or understanding.

  22. Google Search Story Creator Creates video “story” using google searches. Great idea for book reports/summary. Summarize an event in history…what’s most significant.

History Pin • Lets teachers and students share their personal history using google maps, street view and pictures. • The goal is to be the largest archive of historal images and stories. • Allows you to layer old images onto modern Street View scenes. • Hope is to connect middle school students with older generations.

  24. One Word You are given one word and asked to write for 60 seconds with that one word as inspiration. A simple, elegant quick write solution for students. Great way to fight writers-block and make writing a little more fun. Especially great for middle school.

VoiceThreads • http://voicethread.com/ • Multi-media workspace for teachers and students to share. • Students can add pictures, video, sounds, documents and then add voice annotation. • Sounds like a great way for ELL or World Language students to practice. • Can then be embedded into class wiki, blog or website.
