  2. Muscles that move the lower extremities are the strongest in the body • Quadriceps – large group of 4 muscles in the front of thigh • Vastus medialis • Vastus intermedius • Vastus lateralis • Rectus femoris

  3. They join together on anterior of thigh and connect at the quadricep tendon • Very powerful extensor of knee

  4. Two more muscles • Sartorius and gracillis • Attach at the anteriormedial tibia

  5. Pes ansurine – area where sartorius and gracillis and other mucles attach at the anteriomedial tibia • Help with flexion
