  2. Introduction Michael Jackson is the “King of Pop”. He was a singer and hip-hop dancer. Michael was born in Gary, Indiana in 1958. He started his career in family group called “Jackson 5”. “He sang and performed at a professional level at a young age” says Michaela Angela Davis in a video talking about Michael Jackson while he was in the Jackson 5. He later began his solo career and became the man everyone knows now. Michael fell out of the spotlight when allegations of him being a “child molester” started spreading.

  3. Biographical Information Michael Jackson had different styles of dancing. He danced ballet when he was younger but later during his solo career he would be dancing hip-hop and jazz. Early in Michael Jackson’s career he was involved in a family group called “Jackson 5”. The group was signed to a record label called “Motown Record Label”. His 4 other brothers are Tito, Jermaine, Jackie, and Marlon. Jackson 5 would open for famous R&B artists. They started getting noticed when Diana Ross introduced them on their first album “Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5” in Dec. 1969. The group reached No.1 with the single “I Want You Back”. “ABC” and other songs shortly followed behind on the Billboard music charts. But later Michael left the group to start his a solo career at the age of 13

  4. Contribution to Dance Michael is important because he showed the world that someone can be black and young and be successful. He was also the “King of Pop” because he changed the world and broke barriers no one can/could. Michael would combine jazz and hip hop for his music videos and concerts. Michael didn’t use ballet during his solo career. Michael Jackson is an important person because he showed everyone that you can be young, black and successful.

  5. Famous Work The most famous work of Michael Jackson would be the moonwalk, he wasn’t the original person to create this dance move. During his career he singing, some of his most popular songs are ‘Thriller”, “Beat It”, and “Bad”.   6. Conclusion Michael Jackson died June 25, 2009 before he could launch his comeback tour. He made a documentary about his life and preparing for the tour which was played in theaters on October 28, 2009.
