  2. Question 1 – Do you feel there could be a more efficient way, over the now paper method, to keep track of student data? • Yes there could be • Yes. I think it could be stored and shared electronically, as long as appropriate confidentiality can be assured • I feel there are better ways to keep track of student data rather than paper • Yes

  3. Question 2 – Would having the students’ IEP goals loaded onto one system make it easier for the educators involved to keep track of goals and data? • Yes • I’m not sure if it’s prudent to have IEP information accessible to everyone who might be compiling student data, but certainly developing a system to import benchmarks to standardized data compilation sheets would be beneficial. • I feel it would be easier for IEP goals to be loaded into one system. This would make it easier for teachers to do updates and check goals. • Having the data in one place will allow all persons involved know what goals the students are working towards.

  4. Question 3 – Could using Edmodo on iPads help with tracking and keeping data? • Not sure. I’m not too familiar with the Edmodo program. • Edmodo would be one way of tracking and sharing data with interested parties, provided access is tightly controlled. • I feel this would be beneficial for teachers. It would be an easy way for the teachers to communicate the needs of their students. • It will make it easier to have everything in one place.

  5. Question 4 – Can the use of Edmodo help with the communication between teachers and support staff? • Again, not too familiar with Edmodo. • Edmodo would be a fabulous way for teachers and support staff to tinteract regarding student instructional needs, behavioral interventions, and any other student-specific concerns. I think training regarding exactly what should be noted and how it should be noted would be essential, however, since that documentation/written record might be legally required to be shared with parents. • I think using Edmodo will make it easier for teachers and other staff to communicate about the students. It will make it easy for special coordinators to check updates and progress of students. • Yes, it will be a place where comments can be left. Teachers will not have to humt each other down to tell how a student did during a session. Teachers will be able to leave comments any time of day.

  6. Question 5 – How do you feel about each student having their own iPad that can be used for tracking data with Edmodo and for installing individualized applications that can be used for academic support? • If it could be customized to meet student needs I’m sure it would be great. • I think it is a great way to differentiate instruction for students, and to provide individualized intervention/extension support to students. Students can self-monitor their progress on many applications and see their improvement – an “electronic data.” • I feel that sutdents using iPads as a way to support their education is a wonderful idea. The students will have hands-on and engaging activities that can provide support for skills they have learned and are learning. • It is a good idea for each student to have their own iPad. It can be customized for each student and cater to each of their needs. I think it will be easier to keep the data in one place so all members involved can easily view it.

  7. Question 6 – Do you feel there needs to be any training on Edmodo or the iPads? • Yes, very much so, because I have no idea about Edmodo. • Yes, I think training and collaborating among professionals is essential for student success. It would seen that some video tutorials could be loaded onto the devices as well, to encourage parent involvement, and to facilitate standardized approach so that professionals can easily rotate among students. • I do feel there is need for training of this application. I myself have heard of it, but have never used or seen the application. • I think it would be smart to have a training that way everyone who is using it will be familiar with it.
