  2. Case 1 • Newborn infant with suspected thoracic abnormality on pre-natal US

  3. Which study do you want? • Chest US • Ventilation/Perfusion Scan • Contrast enhanced Controlled Ventilation CT • Non-contrast Chest CT • Just show me the prenatal US

  4. Your Diagnosis? • Congenital Adenomatoid Malformation • Sequestration • Scimitar Syndrome • Diaphragmatic Hernia

  5. Case 2 • 2 month old girl, born at 34 weeks gestation, present s to the ER with a lump in her right groin. Parents state this is new and she is in no distress.

  6. What do you recommend? • Course of antibiotics • Pelvis CT with contrast • Surgical exploration • Needle biopsy • Limited US

  7. Diagnosis • Teratoma • Ovarian Hernia • Inguinal Lymph node • Developmental Hip Dysplasia

  8. Case 3 5 year old male with acute on chronic abdominal pain presents to acute care clinic

  9. Next step? • Lab work for pancreatitis • MRCP • UGI • CT • Labs for Lymphoma

  10. Management? • Course of antibiotics • Surgical exploration • Needle biopsy • H2 Blockers • Combo Therapy – 1 & 2

  20. What is not required for the air enema? • IV access • Analgesics • RN in attendance • Pulse Oximetry • Surgical consult

  21. Case 7 • Newborn with abdominal distension and failure to stool.

  22. Your recommendation • Glycerin suppositories • NG decompression • Decubitus view for free air • UGI • Contrast enema

  23. Diagnosis • Hirschprungs • Colonic atresia • Cystic Fibrosis • Diabetes in Mom
