  1. The Sovereign God

  2. Definition of Sovereign • It is the exclusive right to control a government, country, people or oneself • It is the supreme lawmaking authority • It is absoluteness in control over all • Not restricted by constitution • Not restricted by traditions • Not restricted my majority opinion • Has the ability to actually enforce it • The power can compel it’s subjects to obey

  3. Internal Sovereignty • The relationship between a sovereign power and it’s own subjects. • Is it legitimate • By what right does it have authority • By Devine right • By natural right • Was it given this power by another

  4. What Gives God Sovereignty • Nothing gives God sovereignty • He had it from before man’s entrance • Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." • Deity is before all things that we refer to as the beginning

  5. Rev 21:6-8 And He said to me,"It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

  6. He is the First & The Last • Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last." • None other can stand even in his shadows • No one can challenge his authority and power • God is the only potentate

  7. 1 Tim 6:12-16 I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate , the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power.

  8. We must Submit To Him In All Things • James 4:7-10 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

  9. Even The Laws Of Man • 1 Peter 2:13-17 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, 14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men — 16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. 17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

  10. Younger Submit to Elders • 1 Peter 5:5-7 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

  11. Servants Submissive toMasters • 1 Peter 2:18-21 Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh. 19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:

  12. Wives Submissive To Husbands • 1 Peter 3:1-6 Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2 when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. 3 Do not let your adornment be merely outward — arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel — 4 rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, 6 as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.

  13. Members of ChurchMust Obey The Elders • Heb 13:17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive , for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. • Lip service is not enough • We must follow their leadership • Obey their rule and authority just as we obey God

  14. God Is sovereign • God must be reveranced • We must submit to him in all things • We must obey laws of man • Younger must obey elder • Servants must obey their masters • Wives must be submissive to husbands • Members must obey Eldersof Church

  15. It’s All About Honorand Respect For God Man Must Yield To His Authority
