  1. You don’t need to Pay Full Cost for a Stairlift You may need a stairlift, but you can’t afford the cost right now. Perhaps you only need it for a short span of time. Even if that amount of time is unknown, there is a way to make this work and to fit your budget. With stairlift rentals, you can get the item you need installed and working like it should. When you are done with it, they will come remove it. Rental Cost The overall rental cost with stairlift rentals can vary depending on the type of equipment and who you rent it from. It is a good idea to find out who offers such products in your area and what they charge. Explore with them the timeframes for billing too. Many of the providers will bill you monthly. You pay for the first month up front and then each month afterwards. If you don’t really know if you will need the product for a full month, find out if they offer weekly stairlift rentals. Then you will only pay for the number of weeks you will need it in your home. This can be a great option if you are recovering from surgery or an injury and your recovery period shouldn’t be too far out. Contract Take your time to read through the contract so you know exactly what to expect with the stairlift rentals. Will you be responsible for any parts that need fixed during that rental time? Are there any minimum charges that apply? Is the installation and removal of the equipment free? What about the servicing of the equipment? All of this should be covered in the contract so you know. Avoid contracts that lock you into a long-term rental agreement if you feel you only need it for a few weeks or a few months. Perhaps you do need it for the long term but you can’t pay the cost out of pocket. Renting monthly can be a good solution you can afford but can that money apply towards the purchase if you do decide to keep it down the road?

  2. Installation It typically doesn’t take long for the installation of stairlift rentals to be completed. However, it will depend on the location and the type of lift. Some locations are narrow and others including a winding stairway. They can take longer to get all of the pieces in place. The installation should include testing it to make sure it works and showing those in the household how to use it. Maintenance Routine maintenance should be included with stairlift rentals so double check on this before you get it set up. This includes them coming out to your home at regular intervals to check it out and to grease it. Most of these products don’t need maintenance too often though. However, you should also be able to call them to send someone out if something sounds different. It could be an issue with the motor that needs to be addressed. If the lift isn’t working properly, don’t wait until the next time they are scheduled to come out. Call them to get an appointment so you can use it safety and as it was intended once again.

  3. Removal Once you are done with the lift, they should be able to schedule a time to come remove it. Your walls and other structures where it was attached should be unharmed. There may be some holes were brackets and other materials had to be installed. Such areas can easily be fixed and made to look as good as new once the product is taken down.
