Terminology • Terminology is not the focus of this course • You need to learn some basic terms: those in lab exercises and lecture notes • “Taxa”: remember the phyla, (classes), and representative genera I introduce in lecture • Do not remember all the bold-faced terms in the text • (although it might be nice for you to know them when you read the text – See Starr & Taggart Glossary) • Watch the references to chemistry and cells • (review chapters on chemistry and cells)
