  3. EasyGSM – Software Requirements • PC Operating System: • Windows 2000 SP4 or higher • Windows XP • Controller: • Festo PLC with FST Kernel • EasyGSM: • Licensed EasyGSM V4.0 or higher

EasyGSM – Supported Hardware Components • Controller: • Festo FEC Compact • Festo FEC Standard • Festo CPX-FEC • PS1-FST • FC38-FST (includes modem) • GSM Modem: • Siemens MC35i Terminal (900/1800 MHz) • Siemens TC35i Terminal (900/1800 MHz) • Siemens TC65 (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) • Wavecom Fastrack (900/1800 MHz) • FC38-FST (900 MHz, includes controller) • Accessories: • Connection cables and antenna

The FST project • If not installed you need an FST project • EasyGSM uses the FST kernel • EasyGSM does not rely on the content of any FST program • With EasyGSM the controller can still be used as control systemPlease note: EasyGSM driver and possibly other FST drivers consume memory in the controller. Free memory for control programs decreases!

FST project: Drivers • To use EasyGSM the COMEXT and EGSMRT drivers must be configured in your FST project Please note: Required drivers for serial communication may vary depending on the controller used! See FST help chapters “1.10. Serial communication“ as well as „1.10.1. Selecting and parameterizing the driver“ for details!

  12. FST project: IO configuration • As standard in FST4 the IO’s of some controllers are configured automatically • The project including drivers and IO configuration must be downloaded to the controller. A program is not necessary.

  14. Before you start ... • Before you start EasyGSM you might have to configure the language in the menu "Tools" (or Werkzeuge)

  19. EasyGSM: GSM Communication 2/4 • Enter the correct PIN-Code of the SIM card (if PIN code is enabled on the SIM card) used in the GSM modem and a sensible Device name • All other entries are optional

  23. The Symbols 1/3 • Double click Symbolic names • Symbolic names will be used in all messages and identify FST operands clearly • Click Add

  24. The Symbols 2/3 • Enter a symbolic name • Choose the operand: Input, output, flags or register • Choose the address (Offset), possibly the Bit

  35. EasyGSM: Download 1/4 • Open the Tools menu, Communication

  36. EasyGSM: Download 2/4 • Choose the serial communication port appropriate to your PC (or choose the TCPIP address if you use Ethernet communication)You can use function “Find” to automatically detect COM port or IP address the controller is connected

  37. EasyGSM: Download 3/4 • Check (validate) your configuration • Save your configuration • Start the download • The controller will be rebooted after a successful download

  38. EasyGSM: Download 4/4 • Test and view EasyGSM activities by left click on Online • Collect data about controller activitiesPlease note: Click “collect” button to refresh display!

There are 2 ways to check the status of the driver: • Configurator function Device / Login will show a summary of driver status in the controller • With CI command !45STATUS in the FST Terminal window You will find a detailed description of the status codes in EasyGSM Help chapter “EasyGSM Reference / Driver Reference / CI Commands”
