  2. Benefits of long pepper • Liver Ailments: Long pepper is known to have a healing effect on an overworked liver. It helps in eliminating toxins that build up inside the liver due to the metabolism junk food. Think French fries, samosas, and other fried food that we eat. Pippalihelps cleanse the stomach of the harmful effects of these foods.

  3. Weight Loss: Long pepper helps in burning fatty acids. It also has very few, nearly none, side effects. So, it is a much healthier alternative to clinical weight loss solutions. Stagnant body fat is mobilized and eliminated by pippali.

  4. Diabetes: Long pepper can regulate the rate at which glucose is released in the blood. Insulin production is also boosted by pippali. Hence, regular consumption of long pepper is beneficial for all diabetics.

  5. Cough: Frying 1 to 2 grams of pippali in a little ghee and swallowing it give`s relief from cough. Sore throat can be relieved by mixing long pepper with honey. 

  6. Fever: Long pepper has antiseptic and antibiotic properties. A warm bowl of pippali soup can bring down fever. 

  7. Toothache: Make a paste of long pepper, salt, and water and smear this on the pained gum area. Keep it there for an hour to get relief from toothache.

  8. Asthma: It is said that regular consumption of long pepper can reduce the intensity or frequency of an asthma attack. However, it is in no way a replacement for medicine.
