  1. What Gorge Alcock discovered 5 comets , 1 novae, and 1 nova. His first comet in 1959 was called C/1959 Q1. His second comet was called C/1959 Q1. he discovered two more comets in 1963 and 1965. Later, Alcock found his first novae. He found his fifth and finalcomet. He was awarded an MBE, and the asteroid 3174Alcock is named after him.
